Hayvancılık sektörünün karşılaştığı bütün sorunlar için, hayvan beslenme ve teknolojisi gerçekten çözümler su- nabilir. • Besin ve yem katkıları yoluyla antibiyotiklere olan ihtiyacı azaltarak sağlığın korunması, • Uygun yem formülasyonu ve diğer sanayilerden elde edilen yan ürünlerin ve eski gıda maddelerinin hayvan ye- minde kullanımını arttırma ve yem katkılarının kullanılması yoluyla döngüsel ekonomiye katkıda bulunma, • Çiftlik seviyesinde hayvancılığın ekonomik ve çevresel performansını en iyi hale getirmek için kesin yemleme tek- niklerinin geliştirilmesi için yeni çözümler sunulması, • Çiftçilerin gelirlerini desteklemek için uygun maliyetli yem ve hizmet sunulması, • Hayvanların refahı ve gıdanın kalitesini artırmak ve sür- dürülebilir hayvan üretim sistemleri yoluyla çevresel etki- leri azaltmak için yemleme tekniklerinin benimsenmesi. Bunun için, yem sanayisi hayvan besin araştırmalarına (özellikle yem bileşenleri, işleme, sensörler, BT araçları) yatırım yapmakta ve yeni fonksiyonel yemler geliştirmek- tedir. İleriye dönük çalışan yem sanayisi, AB hayvancılık sektö- rünün ve gıda zincirinin direncinin sürdürülebilirliğini artır- mak için büyük bir potansiyele sahiptir. • Yem kullanımını ve yemden yararlanma oranlarını arttıra- rak hayvancılıkta çevresel ayak izlerinin azaltılması, • Sorumlu kaynak kullanımı, üretim ve yem bileşenlerinin kullanılması. Bunun için yem sanayisi, sürekli iyileşme adına güvenilir ve güçlü veri/karşılaştırma geliştiriyor; ancak ölçebildiği- niz şeyi yönetebilirsiniz! Verimli yem güvenliği yönetimi, bütün zincir ortakları ve otoriteler arasında iletişim ve işbirliği gerektirmektedir; zincirde bir kontaminasyon ne kadar erken tespit edilirse, gıda zincirinin geri kalan kısmı için daha az risk ve mali- yet oluşur. Besleme tekniklerine yeterli erişim, ayrıca gıda zinciri kontaminasyonu riskini azaltmak için son derece önemlidir. Yem sanayisi, risk yönetimini iyi hale getirmek ve erken uyarı ve yem güvenliği yönetim sistemleri geliş- tirmek için yem zinciri boyunca diğer zincir partnerleri ile birlikte çalışmalıdır. Şu ana kadar pek çok şey yaptık ve uzun zamandır, yem sanayisinin, hiç anlatmadığı ancak anlatmaya başlayacağı güzel bir hikâyesi olduğuna inanıyoruz. Bu hikayeyi anlat- maya karar verdik. FEFAC kurulunun Antalya’da oy birliği ile kabul ettiği vizyon belgelerinin temelini de bu oluşturu- We all know that the livestock sector is facing a number of challenges, in particular producing more with less re- sources, while reducing its impact on the environment and its use of antibiotics, this in an economic environ- ment exposing EU farmers to third country operators, not always operating with the same standards. For all the challenges faced by the livestock sector, ani- mal nutrition & technology can indeed offer solutions: • Preservation of gut health through nutrition and feed additives to reduce the need for antibiotics, • Contribution to the circular economy through appro- priate feed formulation and use of feed additives that increase use of by-products from other industries and former foodstuffs in animal feed, • New solutions to developing precision feeding tech- niques to optimise livestock economic and environmen- tal performance at farm level, • Cost-effective feed and services to support farmers’ revenues, • Adapting feeding strategies to improve animal wellbe- ing and quality of food and to mitigate environmental impacts through sustainable animal production systems. For this, the feed industry invests in animal nutrition re- search (specialty feed ingredients, processing, sensors, IT tools) and develops innovative functional feeds. By working proactively, the feed industry has a great po- tential to improve the sustainability of the EU livestock sector and resilience of the food chain. • Reducing the environmental footprint of livestock by improving feed use and feed conversion rates • Responsible sourcing, production and use of feed in- gredients, For this, the feed industry is developing credible and ro- bust data/benchmarking to foster continuous improve- ment: you can only manage what you can measure! Efficient feed safety management requires communica- tion and cooperation among all chain partners and au- thorities: the earlier in the chain a contamination is de- tected and contained, the less the risks and costs for the rest of the food chain. Access to adequate feeding techniques to further reduce the risk of food chain con- tamination is of paramount importance in this regard. The feed industry is engaged with other chain partners to optimise risk management along the feed chain and to develop effective early warning and feed safety manage- ment systems. We do a lot of things already and it has been for long our belief that the feed industry had a nice story to tell but has never told it. We have decided to start telling it and this is the basics of the set of vision documents that the
