Dr. Enes Dertli, Dr. Emre Tekçe and Dr. Bülent Bayraktar from Bayburt University have been found to have a high impact on lamb fattening. Tests were conducted to measure the effects of three probi- otic species developed by Dertli on lamb fattening and it was observed that more weight gain was achieved with less cost. Aksakal made a statement about the project and expressed that they have implemented a completely organic production process. Explaining that they observe much higher performance than expected in one of the probiotics, Aksakal said that they will con- tinue the test studies of probiotic consisting of organic food mix- tures. Aksakal said that they predicted that the process would continue successfully and that they would apply for patents in case of success in all tests. Rector Coşkun, who examined the works within the scope of the project, visited the production facility and got information from the project team and Bayram Ünsür, Chairman of Baytaş Organik Koyunculuk A.Ş. which provided technical support. Stating that they are closely following the project which is expected to break ground in domestic animal husbandry, Coşkun said that as a university, they attach great importance to public-university-industry cooperation and they are working to provide added value to their region. Bayburt Üniversitesi’nden Prof. Dr. Vecihi Aksakal, Doç. Dr. Enes Dertli, Dr. Emre Tekçe ve Dr. Bülent Bayraktar’ın gerçek- leştirdiği bilimsel proje kapsamında geliştirilen üç probiyotik türünün test çalışmaları sonucunda, bir probiyotiğin kuzu be- sisinde yüksek etki oluşturduğu tespit edildi. Dertli tarafından geliştirilen üç probiyotik türünün kuzu be- sisine etkilerinin ölçüldüğü testlerde, daha az maliyetle daha fazla kilo kazanımı sağlandığı görüldü. Proje hakkında açıkla- mada bulunan Aksakal, tamamıyla organik bir üretim süreci uyguladıklarını belirtti. Aksakal, probiyotiklerden birinde beklenenden çok daha yüksek performans gözlemlediklerini ve organik gıda karı- şımlarından oluşan probiyotiğin test çalışmalarına devam edeceklerini dile getirdi. Sürecin başarıyla devam edeceğini tahmin ettiklerini bildiren Aksakal, tüm testlerde başarı sağ- lanması durumunda patent başvurusu yapacaklarını ifade etti. Proje kapsamındaki çalışmaları yerinde inceleyen Rektör Coşkun, üretim tesisini gezerek proje ekibinden ve projeye teknik destek veren Baytaş Organik Koyunculuk A.Ş.’nin Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Bayram Ünsür’den bilgi aldı. Yerli hayvancılıkta çığır açması beklenen projeyi yakından takip et- tiklerini belirten Coşkun, üniversite olarak kamu-üniversite-sa- nayi işbirliğine önem verdiklerini ve bulundukları yöreye katma değer kazandırmak için çalıştıklarını söyledi.
