Aside from the fact that we are destroying the ecological balance, climate change and how to meet the nutri- tional needs of the rapidly growing population in the medium and long term need to be considered and evaluated by many actors ranging from international organizations to governments, to the private sector, particularly global companies. In this context, the Bühler Networking Days held in Uzwil, Switzerland, brought together 800 industry representatives, sci- entists and experts from more than 80 countries for a more sus- tainable future. In the meeting represented by 500 companies meeting the food needs of 4 billion people in total, sustainable production systems for feeding the growing world population were discussed. In the three-day event, the estimations that the world's population will increase to 9.8 billion by 2050, and 70 percent of this population will live in urban areas were highlighted and the fact that we had only 10 years to prevent irreversible damage to climate change was expressed. Although the importance of digitalization, the concept of the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence and technology in the solution of the challenges we faced were emphasized in the pro- gram, it was also expressed that these were not sufficient for an entire solution and the significance of value chains was pointed out. With the idea that this would overburden any company, the importance of inclusive cooperation of the private sector was emphasized in the solution of global problems. The concept of feed safety, which is also strictly related to food safety, is one of the main topics of our magazine. In this context, it is also the subject of our current issue's special cover. On top of the special cover, we have prepared a lively Feed Planet issue for you readers with news, articles, files and inter- views. See you in the next issue... Değerli okuyucularımız, Yeryüzünün kaynaklarını “cömert” bir şekilde kullandığımız gerçeği sürdürülebilirlik açısından alarm vermeye devam ediyor. Ekolojik dengeyi bozuyor olmamız bir tarafa, iklim değişikliği ve hızla artan nüfusun gıda ihtiyacının orta ve uzun vadede nasıl karşılanacağı konularının uluslararası organizasyonlardan dev- letlere, oradan küresel şirketler başta olmak üzere özel sektöre varana dek birçok aktör tarafından düşünülüp değerlendirilmesi gerekiyor. Bu kapsamda, İsviçre’nin Uzwil şehrinde ağustos ayı sonunda gerçekleştirilen Bühler Networking Günleri, daha sürdürülebilir bir gelecek için 80'den fazla ülkeden 800 sektör temsilcisi, bi- lim adamı ve uzmanı bir araya getirdi. Toplamda 4 milyar insanın gıda ihtiyacını karşılayan 500 şirketin temsil edildiği toplantıda, artan dünya nüfusunun gıda ihtiyacının karşılanabilmesi için sür- dürülebilir üretim sistemleri üzerinde tartışıldı. Üç gün süren et- kinlikte, 2050 yılında dünya nüfusunun 9,8 milyara çıkacağı ve bu nüfusun yüzde 70'inin kentsel bölgelerde yaşayacağı tahmininin yanı sıra iklim değişikliğinin geri dönüşü olmayan bir hasara ne- den olmasını önlemek için sadece 10 yılımızın kaldığı ifade edildi. Programda karşılaştığımız meydan okumaların çözümünde dijitalleşmenin, Internet of Things (IoT) olarak anılan nesnelerin interneti kavramının, yapay zekânın ve teknolojinin önemine vurgu yapılsa da bunların tek başına yeterli olmayacağının altı çizilerek değer zincirleri ve sistemlerine dikkat çekildi. Bunun herhangi bir şirketin kapasitesini aşacağı düşüncesinden ha- reketle, küresel sorunların çözümünde özel sektörün topyekûn işbirliğinin önemine işaret edildi. Gıda güvenliği ile de alakalı olarak yem güvenliği kavramı, der- gimizin ana konularından birini teşkil ediyor. Bu kapsamda yem güvenliği elinizdeki sayımızın da özel dosya konusu. Özel dosyamızın haricinde de haber, makale, dosya ve röpor- tajlarla siz okuyucularımız için yine canlı bir Feed Planet sayısı hazırladık.
