İskenderiye, Buhakyre ve Kahire gibi Mısır'ın kuzey bölgeleri, hem yerli hem de uluslararası yerler için mükemmel bir konum sağlar. MISIR ÜRETİMİ: Mısır’ın sarı mısır üretimi, yem talebinin yüzde 20'sinden azını karşılamaktadır. Yem imalat sanayinin büyüyen üretimi ithalatla destekleniyor. 2018 yılında 320 milyon dolar dolayında gerçekle- şen ithal Amerikan mısırına güçlü talebin göstergesi olarak kabul edilebilir. FAS Kahire, Mısır'ın 2019/20 sezonunda mısır üretimini USDA’nın 7,2 milyon tonluk resmi tahmininden 6,4 mt olarak tah- min ediyor. Üretimdeki düşüş, ekilen arazinin artan pirinç ekimleri- ne bağlı olarak azalmasından kaynaklanmaktadır. Kurum2019/20 sezonu için hasat alanını 800 bin hektarla USDA'nın resmi tahmi- ninden yüzde 12,5 oranında düşük düzeyde tahmin ediyor. Beyaz mısır ekilen arazinin 480 bin hektar olduğu bildiriliyor ve dengeyi sarı mısır ekimleri oluşturuyor. MISIR TÜKETİMİ: ABD Tarım Bakanlığı'ndan (USDA) 18 Eylül tarihli Global Tarım- sal Bilgi Ağı raporuna göre, nüfus artışı ve yerli süt, kanatlı hayvan- lar ve su ürünleri yetiştiriciliği sektörlerinin yem talebinde yaşanan artışa bağlı olarak Mısır'daki mısır tüketiminin 2019-20 sezonunda artması bekleniyor. FAS Kahire, ülkenin 2018/19 sezonunda 16,2 milyon ton (mt) olarak hesaplanan mısır tüketiminin 2019/20 sezonunda 16,9 mt ulaşacağını tahmin ediyor. Kurumun 2018/19 ve 2019/20 sezon- ları için tüketim tahminleri USDA resmi tahminleriyle aynı kaldı. Kurum bu artışı ülkenin kümes hayvanı, süt ürünleri ve su ürün- leri yetiştiriciliği sektörlerinin yeme olan talebindeki artışa dayandırı- yor. The de- crease in production is due to a reduction in the area harvested due to increased plantings for rice. Post estimates area harvested for MY 2019/20 at 800,000 hectares down from USDA official estimate by 12.5 percent. Reportedly white corn area harvested accounts for 480,000 hectares, with yellow corn plantings making up the bal- ance. CORN CONSUMPTION: Consumption of corn in Egypt is forecast to increase in 2019-20 due to population growth and increased feed demand from the do- mestic dairy, poultry and aquaculture sectors, according to a Sept. 18 Global Agricultural Information Network report from the U.S. De- partment of Agriculture (USDA). FAS Cairo forecasts Egypt’s corn consumption in MY 2019/20 at 16.9 MMT, up from the MY 2018/19 estimate of 16.2 MMT. Post consumption estimates for MY 2018/19 and MY 2019/20 remains unchanged from USDA official estimates. The post attributes the uptick to increased feed demand driven by the country’s poultry, dairy, and aquaculture sectors. MALR re- cently announced that the issuance of licenses for animal, poultry and production of feed projects has more than doubled over the past two years. EGYPT’S YELLOW CORN IMPORTS: FAS Cairo forecasts Egypt’s corn imports in MY 2019/20 at 10 MMT, up to three percent fromPost’sMY2018/19 estimate of 9.7million metric tons. Post estimates for corn imports in MY 2018/19 and MY 2019/20 remains un- changed from USDA official estimates.
