In the statement made by Stan- dard & Poor’s, it was stated that fertilizer prices reached his- torical levels due to supply disruptions after the COVID-19 outbreak, the Russia-Ukraine war and China’s export rest- rictions. The prices were assessed as ‘not sustainable’. In the statement, it was noted that the prices of phosphate, urea and po- tassium increased by approximately 190%, 170% and 280%, respectively, in the last two years. Considering the possible effects of the situation, it was warned that the unsustainably high fertilizer prices pose a risk for food security. On the other hand, it was analyzed that the situation in question shows the dependence of the industry on Russia, the world’s largest fertilizer exporter, and that this should be reduced. Investments needed to make this change hap- pen are hampered by high inflation, shortages in supply and uncertainties over the form and cost of regulation to decarbonize the industry for nitrogen fertilizers, the world- renowned rating agency said in the statement. Uluslararası kredi derecelendirme kuruluşu S&P gübre fi- yatlarının tarımsal üretimle alakalı olarak gıda güvencesi için risk oluşturduğunu açıkladı. Standard&Poor’s tarafından ya- pılan açıklamada, gübre fiyatlarının COVID-19 salgını sonrası yaşanan arz kesintileri, Rusya-Ukrayna savaşı ve Çin’in ihracat kısıtlamaları sebebiyle tarihi seviyelere ulaştığı ifade edildi. Fi- yatlar hakkında ‘sürdürülebilir değil’ değerlendirmesi yapıldı. Yapılan açıklamada; fosfat, üre ve po- tasyum fiyatlarının son iki yılda sırasıyla yaklaşık %190, %170 ve %280 arttığı kay- dedildi. Söz konusu durumun muhtemel etkileri değerlendirildiğinde, sürdürülebi- lir olmayan derecede yüksek seyreden gübre fiyatlarının, gıda güvencesi için risk teşkil ettiği uyarısı yapıldı. Diğer yandan, söz konusu durumun sektörün dünyanın en büyük gübre ihracatçısı Rusya’ya olan bağımlılığını gösterdiğini ve bunun azaltılması gerektiğini de gösterdiği analizine yer verildi. Dünyaca ünlü derecelendir- me kuruluşunun açıklamasında, “Bu değişimin gerçekleşmesi için gereken yatırımlar; yüksek enflasyon, arz kıtlığı ve azotlu gübreler için endüstriyi karbondan arındırma amaçlı düzenle- melerin şekli ve maliyetine ilişkin belirsizlikler sebebiyle en- gelleniyor.” denildi.
