Feed producers, farmers and integrators in the livestock industry are facing increased demand for environmentally optimized products and solutions from consumers and re- gulatory bodies around the world. As such, it has never been more important to accurately report on the environ- mental footprint of products. The streamlined digital service MyFeedPrint, which is integrated into the NutriOpt digital platform, represents a key step forward for transparency in the livestock value chain. In line with Trouw Nutrition’s purpose, Feeding the Future, this service enables environmental assessments for animal feed products, analyzing the impact of each in- dividual ingredient and the processes that goes into crea- ting every ton of feed. MyFeedPrint will allow feed producers to uncover their environmental hotspots and prioritise the lowest-impact strategies to ensure their operations can continue to run profitably and sustainably. Based on the results of the MyFeedPrint analysis, producers can calculate more envi- ronmentally conscious choices to enhance their products and make informed decisions about how to achieve lower impact solutions. This will help users remain competitive in an increasingly environmentally aware marketplace. A SIMPLE, USER-CENTRIC SOLUTION The MyFeedPrint service does not require specialist knowledge of life cycle assessments (LCAs), making it accessible to all. To produce an environ- mental footprint measure- ment, users only need to input information on the raw materials that go into their feed alongside details of the feed production faciliti- es used. Users can compare the valu- es associated with different ingredients or different sources of the same raw ma- terial. They can also determine the footprint of the individual production lines within their feed mill or calculate an average value for their entire facility. The LCA databases used by MyFeedPrint are accredited and operate under strict quality control guidelines. The tool is in the process of becoming certified in alignment with PEFCR feed for food producing animals, which is schedu- led to be achieved in 2023. MyFeedPrint’s LCA databases offers users the latest environmental impact data for raw materials and energy sources. This data can then be used to develop and market more sustainable feed products, answering growing consumer demands for lower-impact solutions. Kullanıcılar farklı içeriklerle veya aynı hammaddenin farklı kaynaklarıyla ilişkili değerleri kar- şılaştırabilir. Ayrıca yem fabrikalarındaki münferit üretim hatlarının ayak izini belirleyebilir veya tüm tesisleri için ortalama bir değer hesaplayabilirler. MyFeedPrint tarafından kullanılan LCA veritabanları akredite edilmiştir ve sıkı kalite kontrol yönergeleri altın- da çalışmaktadır. Araç, 2023 yılında ulaşılması planlanan gıda üreten hayvanlar için PEFCR yemiyle uyumlu olarak sertifikalandırılma sürecindedir. MyFeedPrint’in LCA ve- ritabanları, kullanıcılara hammadde ve enerji kaynakları için en son çevresel etki verilerini sunmaktadır. Bu veriler daha sonra daha sürdürülebilir yem ürünleri geliştirmek ve pazarlamak için kullanılabilir ve daha düşük etkili çö- zümler için artan tüketici taleplerine cevap verebilir.
