Despite the economic stagnation in Germany, it maintained its leading position in Turkey’s machinery exports with 2.3 billi- on dollars during this period, while Russia ranked second with 1.4 billion dollars, despite a significant contraction of 17.9%. Expressing that the data obtained from exports to the United States, which entered the last quarter with hopes of revitalization following interest rate cuts, has been a savior for the sector this year, Machinery Exporters’ Association President Kutlu Karavelioğlu stated: “The United States is not having a stagnant year from our perspective, despite experiencing negative expectations in some sectors due to a contraction in employment. While the reasons in Russia, Germany, and Israel are not sufficient to compensate for our known losses, the increase we achieved in the United States has been a morale booster for the sec- tor this year. Although the negative developments in global machinery investments and trade have varying effects on our export markets and sub-sectors, we managed to maintain our record export level of 28.2 billion dollars reached by the end of 2023 in the last 12 months. We will soon start to see the negative impacts of our weakened competitiveness on our exports due to the decrease in orders and disrupted scales, particularly starting from the second quarter. Rusya, Almanya ve İsrail’deki se- bepleri malum kayıplarımızı telafi edecek düzeyde olmasa da ABD’de sağladığımız artış, bu yıl sektör için bir moral kay- nağı oldu. Küresel makine yatırımları ve ticaretindeki olum- suz gelişmelerin ihracat pazarlarımız ve alt sektörlerimiz üze- rinde farklı etkileri olmakla beraber, son 12 aylık dönemde 2023 tamamında ulaştığımız 28,2 milyar dolarlık rekor ihra- cat seviyemizi koruma imkânı bulduk. Özellikle ikinci çeyrek- ten başlayarak siparişlerde yaşanan düşüş ve bozulan öl- çekler nedeniyle zaafa düşen rekabetçiliğimizin ihracatımız üzerindeki menfi etkilerini henüz görmeye başlayacağız. İki kıtada birden faiz indirim döngüsünün başlaması, bizim için yeni bir dönemin kapısını aralıyor. Bu noktadan sonra küre- sel yatırımlardaki iştahsızlık arzu edildiği gibi tersine döner- se, tek belirsizlik olarak kendi iç sorunlarımız kalıyor.” ARTICLE • MAKALE
