Raf öm- rünün 28 güne çıkarılmasından etiketleme kurallarına kadar birçok yenilik, hem üreticileri hem tüketicileri yakından ilgilendiriyor. Major amendments to the Turkish Food Codex Egg Communiqué regarding table eggs have officially come into effect. From the extended shelf life to re- vised labeling rules, the changes directly affect both producers and consumers. Shelf life for eggs increased to 28 days Sofralık yumurtada raf ömrü 28 güne çıktı The revised Turkish Food Codex Egg Communiqué, which regulates table eggs, was published in Türkiye’s Official Ga- zette and has entered into force. From now on, the label will state “Recommended Consumption Date” instead of “Expira- tion Date.” Moreover, table eggs must be sold within a maxi- mum of 28 days from the date of laying. In addition, the shelf life, previously set at 21 days, has been extended to 28 days. According to the new regulation, eggs labeled as “extra fresh” must be graded, marked, and packaged within 4 days after laying. Eggs that have not been processed within 10 days of laying may no longer be sold as table eggs and can only be used in the production of egg products. Several labeling expressions have also been updated. For example, the phrase “Class B eggs are used in the food in- dustry” has been clarified to “Class B eggs are sent to and used in the food industry.” Simi- larly, the term “free range” has been revi- sed to “farming with access to open-air areas (free range)” to improve clarity. The regulation also aligns the de- finition of “egg product” with EU le- gislation. Additionally, the term “air cell,” which indicates egg freshness, has been officially included in the communiqué. Percentage indicators on packaging related to quality cont- rol have also been made more comp- rehensible. Yeni düzenlemeye göre, “ekstra taze” olarak satılacak yumurtaların, yumurtlamadan sonraki 4 gün içinde sınıflan- dırılması, işaretlenmesi ve ambalajlanması zorunlu olacak. Yumurtlama tarihinden sonra 10 gün içinde işlemden geç- memiş olan yumurtalar yalnızca yumurta ürünlerinde kulla- nılabilecek. Etiketleme açısından da bazı ifadeler güncellendi. Örneğin, “B sınıfı yumurta gıda sanayiinde kullanılır” ibaresi, “B sınıfı yu- murta gıda sanayiine gönderilir ve kullanılır” şeklinde netleşti- rildi. Aynı şekilde, “free range” tanımı da “açık dolaşım alanına erişim (free range) yetiştiriciliği” şeklinde netleştirildi. Düzenleme, Avrupa Birliği mevzuatıyla uyumlu hale getirilen “yumurta ürünü” tanımını da içeriyor. Ayrıca yumurtanın tazeliğini gösteren “hava boşluğu” terimi resmi teb- liğe dâhil edildi. Kalite kontrollerine dair ambalaj üzerindeki oran bildirim- leri de daha anlaşılır hale getirildi.
