FAMI-QS is widely recog- nized as one of the leading international standards for feed safety and quality management in animal nutrition. The certification “highlights the reliability and transparency of our production processes and stands as a cornerstone of our qu- ality policy,” the company said. It further reflects “not only the de- dication of our team but also our strong commitment to delivering the highest standards of quality and trust to our customers.” With the new facility, Nutriline aims to continue adding value for industry stakeholders while operating at global standards. The FAMI-QS certification reinforces the company’s position as a trusted feed additive manufacturer in both local and international markets. Kocaer Çelik becomes the only Turkish steel producer with SBTi-approved targets Kocaer Çelik, bilim temelli hedefleri onaylanan tek Türk çelik üreticisi oldu Turkish steel profile producer Kocaer Çelik has announ- ced that its near-term (2030) and net-zero (2050) emission reduction targets have been officially approved by the Scien- ce Based Targets initiative (SBTi), making it the only Turkish company in the sector with such recognition. The approval confirms that the company’s reduction plans meet indepen- dent and science-based criteria. “Our commitment to reach net-zero emissions by 2050 has been validated by SBTi. With the completion of this process, both our near- and long-term targets have been approved, confirming the international validity of our roadmap,” said Ha- kan Kocaer, Chairman at Kocaer Çelik. The company aims to reduce Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 42% and Scope 3 emissions per ton of steel by 51.6% by 2030, compared to 2022 levels. By 2050, these figures are expected to reach 90% and 97% reductions res- pectively. This step brings the company’s production in line with the 1.5°C global warming limit set by the Paris Agreement. Emission reduction initiatives by major steel suppliers are closely tied to the future of the sector’s supply chain. Kocaer Çelik’s SBTi approval highlights the growing importance of sustainability criteria in sourcing steel. Kocaer Çelik operates out of İzmir Aliağa and exports to more than 140 countries across six continents. Through rene- wable energy investments and low-carbon production strate- gies, it positions itself as one of the frontrunners in sustainable steel manufacturing. Validasyon sürecinin tamamlanmasıyla hem yakın dönem hem de uzun vadeli emis- yon azaltım hedeflerimiz onaylanmış oldu. Bu gelişme, yol ha- ritamızın uluslararası düzeyde geçerliliğini tescilledi” dedi. Şirketin planına göre, 2022 baz yılı esas alınarak Kapsam 1 ve 2 sera gazı emisyonlarında %42, ton başına Kapsam 3 emis- yonlarında ise %51,6 oranında azaltım hedefleniyor. 2050’ye kadar bu oranların sırasıyla %90 ve %97’ye ulaşması öngörü- lüyor. Bu adım, üretim faaliyetlerinin Paris Anlaşması’nın 1,5°C hedefiyle uyumlu hale getirildiğini gösteriyor. Çelik üretiminde emisyon azaltımına yönelik büyük üretici- lerin attığı adımlar, tedarik zincirinin geleceğini de yakından ilgilendiriyor. Kocaer Çelik’in SBTi onayı, malzeme tedarikinde sürdürülebilirlik kriterlerinin daha görünür hale geldiğine işaret ediyor.
