Kocaman stressed that they do not know which product will be abundant in which year so they keep their product range as large as possible. Yetiştiricilik yaptığı Türk somonu dışında ürünlerini avcılık faaliyetleri sonucunda elde eden Koca- man Balıkçılık’ın Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Osman Kocaman, su ürünleri sektöründe üretimin doğal faktörlere bağlı olduğunu söyledi. Kocaman, hani yıl hangi ürünün bol olacağını bilmedikleri için ürün yelpazelerini oldukça geniş tuttuklarını belirtti. Kocaman Balıkçılık, which obtains all of its products through hunting except for the Black Sea Salmon, exports them to 35 countries across 5 continents with 8 different categories of products. Kocaman Balıkçılık Chairman Osman said that they keep their product portfolio wide due to the inability to predict which product will be abundant in which year. Kocaman said that the hunting of shrimps in 2018 being less than expected was reflected in exports and they went towards anchovy imports due to the fact that the production of anchovy was also unstable for sev- eral years. He also noted that the sector could not get the yield expected from the acorn this year. Osman Kocaman said that the production is dependent on the chance factor because they do not know for which product nature will behave generously and that they have overcome this risk by expanding the product portfolio: “In fact, the fact that our product portfolio is so large eliminates the risks that may occur in a few products. You may compen- sate for your loss in one product with another. Of course, a well-established logistical and supply infrastructure is essen- tial at this point. Because many species are being obtained from different cities and regions. We do not experience any difficulties in supply thanks to our dedicated team.” Türk Somonu dışında bütün ürünleri avcılık faaliyetleri so- nucunda elde eden Kocaman Balıkçılık, 8 farklı kategoride ürün çeşidiyle, 5 kıtada 35 ülkeye ürün ihraç ediyor. Koca- man Balıkçılık Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Osman Kocaman, hangi yıl hangi üründe bolluk yaşanacağının önceden kes- tirilememesi nedeniyle ürün portföylerini geniş tuttuklarını söyledi. 2018 yılında karidesin beklenenden daha az avlanmasının ihracata da yansıdığını belirten Kocaman, hamsinin de birkaç yıldır istikrarsız olması nedeniyle hamsi ithalatına yöneldiklerini dile getirdi. Ayrıca sektörün bu yıl palamuttan istediği performansı alamadığını kaydetti. Doğanın o yıl hangi ürüne bonkör davrana- cağını bilmedikleri için üretimin şans faktörüne bağlı olduğunu söyleyen Osman Kocaman, bu riski ürün portföyünü genişleterek aştıkla- rını söyledi: “Aslında ürün portföyümüzün bu kadar geniş olması birkaç üründe yaşanabilecek riskleri bertaraf ediyor. Bir yerdeki kaybınızı başka ürünlerle tela- fi edebiliyorsunuz. Tabi bu noktada bir de iyi bir lojistik ve tedarik altyapısı kurmak şart. Zira birçok tür farklı şehir ve bölgelerden elde ediliyor.
