Drawing attention to the continuous increase in input prices, experts agree that the only remedy for feed, which is the most important expense item in animal production, is the localization efforts. Enflasyon ve salgın nedeniyle hayvansal gıda piyasasında artan fiyatlar alarm vermeye başladı. Girdi fi- yatlarında yaşanan daimi artışa dikkat çeken uzmanlar, hayvansal üretimde en önemli gider kalemi olan yem konusunda tek çarenin yerlileşme çalışmaları olduğunda birleşiyor. Food nationalization has started to be talked about more in the world on the coronavirus pandemic. Many countries, which put the issue of foreign dependency on the table after the supply chains were interrupted, started to focus more on self-sufficiency especially in staple food. For example, Russia, which launched the Food Safety Doctrine in June, is planning to increase its self- sufficiency up to 75% in main crops in a short period of time and to decrease the level of foreign dependency in feed additives. In this context, the experts in Turkey are noting that rising pric- es are largely due to the imported products depending on for- eign exchange increases and similar reasons. According Duygu Erdoğan's news published on Milliyet daily, managers of the im- portant institutions of the sector and Turkish agricultural experts point out that the country can gradually reduce the dependence on feed only through a special plan. Stating that feed became a burden for producers due to im- ported inputs, agricultural author Ali Ekber Yıldırım said, “More than 3 million tons of soy is needed for feed per year. Our pro- duction is 150 thousand tons in maximum. This deficit will not be able to met for a long time. We have to look at alternative products.” Bülent Tunç, President of The Red Meat Producers' Association of Turkey said they are preparing a study to find solu- tions to the problem of foreign dependence in feed and said that they submitted it to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. Tedarik zincirlerinin ke- sintiye uğraması üzerine dışa bağımlılık konusunu masa- ya yatıran birçok ülke, özellikle temel gıda maddelerinde kendine yeterlik konusunun üzerinde daha ciddi bir şekilde durmaya başladı. Örneğin, geçtiğimiz haziran ayında Gıda Güvenliği Doktrini’ni yürürlüğe sokan Rusya, ana tahıllar- da kendine yeterliliğini kısa zamanda %75’e çıkarmayı ve yem katkı maddelerinde de dışa bağımlılık düzeyini aşağıya çekmeyi planlıyor. Bu bağlamda, Türkiye’de de uzmanlar artan fiyatların bü- yük ölçüde kur farkı ve benzeri nedenlerle ithal ürünlerden kaynaklandığına dikkat çekiyor. Milliyet’ten Duygu Erdoğan’ın haberine göre, sektörün önemli kuruluşlarının yöneticileri ve Türk tarım uzmanları özel bir planla yemde dışarı bağımlılığı kademeli olarak düşürebileceğine dikkat çekiyor. İthal girdiler nedeniyle yemin üreticiler için yük hâline dönüş- tüğünü belirten, tarım yazarı Ali Ekber Yıldırım, “yem için yıl- da 3 milyon tondan fazla soya ihtiyacı var. Üretim maksimum 150 bin ton. Bu açık uzun süre kapanmaz. Alternatif ürünlere bakmak lazım.” diyor. Türkiye Kırmızı Et Üreticileri Merkez Birliği Başkanı Bülent Tunç ise, yemde dışa bağımlılık sorununa çö- züm üretmek için bir çalışma hazırladıklarını ve bunu Tarım ve Orman Bakanlığı’na sunduklarını söyledi.
