Bu perspektif ise, koronavi- rüs salgınının dünyayı etkisi altına alan ilk salgın ol- madığı gibi son da olmadığına dikkat çekiyor. Aşı konusunda henüz tünelin ucunun görünmediğini hatırlatıyor. Ayrıca bu görüşün bazı müdafilerine göre, söz konusu pandemi çözüme kavuşturulsa dahi artık buna benzer felaketlerin tekrar etmesi oldukça olası. Dolayısıyla, artık gıda güvencesinin ve güvenli- ğinin çok daha ciddi bir şekilde ele alınması gere- kiyor. Kötü ihtimale hazırlıklı olma prensibi burada devreye giriyor. Değer zincirinin her bir halkası bu açıdan ele alınarak gerekli tüm tedbirler alınma- lı. Muhtemel bir pandeminin tekrar yaşanmasının önüne geçmek için uluslararası standartlar ve yap- tırımlar devreye sokulmalı. Koronavirüs salgını nedeniyle, tarım ve hayvan- cılığın önemi artık biraz daha iyi anlaşılmaktadır. Gıda ve yemin depolanması da aynı kaderi pay- laşıyor. Yem veya yem ham maddelerinin olması gerektiği gibi depolanabilmesi, yemin kalitesini ve miktarını korumak ve ürünlerinizi en uygun za- manda kullanabilmek veya satabilmek için önemli bir imkân. İçerisinden geçtiğimiz süreç gerek ticari anlamda gerekse gıda güvenliği kaygıları açısından gıda ve yem depolama konusunun yıldızının parlayacağı- nı gösteriyor. Sektörün önemli alt birimlerinden biri olan depolama işinin son yıllarda lisanslı depoculukla çok daha modern ve profesyonel şekilde yapılması gündemde. Türkiye de dâhil olmak üzere gelişmekte olan birçok ülke bu konunun önemini anlamış ve li- sanslı depoculuğun daha da yaygınlaşması için bazı adımlar atmaktadır. Yem ve gıda güvenliği kaygılarının böylesine yo- ğun bir şekilde yaşandığı günümüzde temmuz- ağustos sayımızın kapak konusunu lisanslı de- poculuğa ayırdık. Türkiye'nin lisanslı depoculuk hakkında ilk elden bilgi almak isteyen ilk aklına ge- len kişilerin başında gelen Hikmet Özkan, konuyu siz değerli okuyucularımız için detaylı bir şekilde ele aldı. The possibilities expressed in the optimistic view probably would not make anyone unhappy. In fact, we all sincerely want this thought to be right. How- ever, the so-called pessimistic view deserves a little more attention. This perspective points out that the coronavirus pandemic is not the first global epidemic, nor is it the last one. It reminds us that the light at the end of the tunnel has not yet been seen regarding the vaccine. Also, according to some defenders of this view, even if the pandemic in question is resolved, it is quite possible for such disasters to recur. Therefore, food security and safety need to be handled much more earnestly. The principle of be- ing prepared for the worst-case scenario comes into play here. Each ring of the value chain should be assessed in this respect and all necessary mea- sures have to be taken. International standards and necessary sanctions must be put in place to prevent a possible repetition of a similar pandemic. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the significance of agriculture and livestock breeding is understood much better. Storing food and feed has shared the same good fate. Being able to store feed or feed ingredients as it should be is a substantial facility in order to sustain the quality and quantity of feed and being able to use or sell your goods at the most suitable time. The process we went through shows that the star of food and feed storage will rise in terms of both commercial and food safety concerns. The storage business, which is one of the important units of the sector, is being carried out in a more modern and professional manner with licenced warehousing in recent years. Many developing countries have com- prehended the significance of this subject and are taking some steps to further expand licenced ware- housing. In the current agenda where feed and food safety concerns are experienced so intensely, we have allocated the cover story of our July-August issue to licenced warehousing. Mr. Hikmet Özkan, who is one of the top persons in Turkey who comes to mind when someone seeks for first-hand informa- tion about licenced warehousing, has discussed the subject in detail for you, dear readers.
