The prices of corn, one of the main raw materials of feed production, peaked with the war-related risks and the expectation that the demand for the US harvest will increase. Corn futures contracts, which have the highest trading volume on the Chicago stock market, closed at $7.83 on Thursday, 14 April. Corn prices rose to $7.90/bushel on subsequent Monday, reaching the highest level of the last 10 years. This price corresponds to 311 dollars/ton. Corn prices had previously been on the rise due to concerns that the planting time might be delayed due to adverse weather condi- tions in the plantations in the US Midwest. Wheat increased by 1.4 percent to 11.20 dollars/bushel ($411.5/ ton). Soybeans increased 0.6 percent to $16.91/bushel ($621.3/ton). While the invasion blocks the harvests in the ports of Ukraine, it also caused turmoil in the global grain trade and deteriorated the outlook for spring sowings. Having a look at pre-war figures, Russia and Ukraine together used to supply a quarter of the world's wheat and a fifth of corn. Buğday, yüzde 1,4 değer kazanarak 11,20 dolar/bushel (411,5 do- lar/ton) seviyesine yükseldi. Soya fasulyesi, yüzde 0,6 artışla 16,91 dolar/bushel (621,3 dolar/ton) düzeyini yakaladı.
