Germany, South Korea report ASF cases in farms Almanya ve Güney Kore'de ASF alarmı In Germany, the number of outbreaks of ASF among domestic pigs has reached five. At the end of last month, the ASF virus was detected at a farm in the southwestern state of Baden-Wurttem- berg. This is the first ASF case in this state, according to the infor- mation shared with the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE). The source of the infection is not known. Baden-Wurt- temberg has no common borders with other states where outbreak of ASF had been reported. Also, there are no re- ported cases among wild boars in this state. The veterinary authority of South Korea updated the ASF situation in the country to the OIE. Among the 15 outbreaks to be reported was one on a commercial farm in Gangwon province. This is the first outbreak of the country in domes- tic pigs since October 2021. Since ASF was first detected in the country in September 2019, 21 outbreaks of ASF have been reported among South Korean do- mestic pigs. Of these, all seven outbreaks since the start of 2020 have occurred in Gangwon. Located in the northeast of the coun- try, this province borders North Korea. A 48-hour transport ban is in force for pig farms, slaughterhous- es, feed companies and other related vehicles within Gangwon and neighboring Gyeonggi provinces.
