Incentives will be favored over restrictive conditions to promo- te sectoral growth. Raffaele Fitto, Executive Vice-President for Cohesion and Reforms, underlined the broader vision: “The Vision is our resolute response to the agri-food sector’s call for action—shaping a future that is competitive, resilient, fair, and att- ractive for generations to come.” FEFAC SUPPORTS COMMISSION’S VISION FEFAC has expressed strong support for the European Commission’s Vision for Agriculture and Food, particularly the renewed focus on livestock and its long-term sustainability. The fe- deration acknowledges the Commission’s com- mitment to fostering a competitive and resilient agri-food system, addressing the vital challen- ges faced by the agricultural sector. FEFAC also welcomes the inclusion of a dedicated vision for livestock, highlighting its role in the future of European agriculture. The roadmap’s attention to Europe’s de- pendency on imported feed protein resonates with FEFAC, as the federation continues to call for actions to boost EU protein production. FEFAC’s members remain dedicated to sup- porting the transition of the livestock sector toward more sustainable practices through advanced feeding techniques, contributing to enhanced competitiveness and reduced gre- enhouse gas emissions. CORDERO CALLS FOR TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS FEFAC President Pedro Cordero highlighted the impor- tance of technological advancements in feeding strategies, which are pivotal in helping the livestock sector reduce emis- sions and improve sustainability. He emphasized the role of circularity and bioeconomy in agriculture, urging the Com- mission to recognize the contribution of circular feed in lives- tock production. As a member of the European Board for Agriculture & Food (EBAF), Cordero will continue advocating for the European compound feed and premix sector’s contribution to the susta- inable farming goals outlined in the Commission’s Vision. He also underscored the vulnerabilities faced by European feed production, especially its reliance on essential feed additives, vitamins, and amino acids. Federasyon, Komisyon’un rekabetçi ve da- yanıklı bir tarım-gıda sistemini teşvik etme taahhüdünü takdir etti ve tarım sektörünün karşılaştığı kritik sorunlara değindi. FEFAC ayrıca, Avrupa tarımının geleceğinde hayvan- cılığın rolünü vurgulayan özel bir vizyonun dahil edilmesini memnuniyetle karşıladı. Yol haritasının, Avrupa’nın ithal yem prote- ini bağımlılığına dikkat çekmesi, FEFAC için önemli. Çünkü Federasyon, AB protein üreti- mini artırmaya yönelik adımlar atılması gerek- tiğini vurgulamaya devam ediyor. Hayvancılık sektörünün daha sürdürülebilir uygulamalara geçişini desteklemeye kararlı olan FEFAC üyeleri, bu geçişin, gelişmiş besleme teknik- leriyle daha fazla rekabetçilik sağlanmasına ve sera gazı emisyonlarının azaltılmasına katkıda bulunacağına inanıyor. CORDERO’DAN TEKNOLOJİK GELİŞME ÇAĞRISI FEFAC Başkanı Pedro Cordero, hayvancılık sektörünün emisyonları azaltmasına ve sürdürülebilirliği iyileştirmesine yardımcı olan besleme stratejilerinde teknolojik gelişmelerin önemini vurguladı. Tarımda döngüsellik ve biyotekonomi rolü- nü ön plana çıkaran Cordero, Komisyon’a, döngüsel yemlerin hayvancılık üretimine olan katkısını tanıma çağrısında bulundu. Avrupa Tarım ve Gıda Konseyi (EBAF) üyesi olarak, Corde- ro, Avrupa karma yem ve premiks sektörünün, Komisyon’un Vizyonu’nda belirtilen sürdürülebilir tarım hedeflerine kat- kısını savunmaya devam edeceğini söyledi. Ayrıca, Avru- pa yem üretiminin karşılaştığı kırılganlıklara, özellikle temel yem katkı maddeleri, vitaminler ve amino asitlere olan ba- ğımlılığını da vurguladı.
