The Collaborative Innovation Summit held at Büh- ler’s CUBIC campus brought start-ups, corporates, and investors together to unlock the potential of AI-powered biotech solutions. The initiative aims to accelerate sustainable transformation in sectors in- cluding feed, food, and alternative proteins. Bühler and Icos unite start-ups and corporates to scale biotech innovation Bühler ve Icos, biyo- teknoloji inovasyonu için start-up’lar ile şirketleri buluşturdu Icos Capital, a climate-tech venture capital firm, and Büh- ler co-hosted the third edition of the Collaborative Innovati- on Summit on March 28 at Bühler’s CUBIC Innovation Cam- pus. The event served as a platform to connect start-ups from Europe and North America with corporates and inves- tors, aiming to turn biotech and AI advances into scalable commercial solutions. “This is an exciting time for biotech – they are able to bring science fiction to life,” said Ori Zakin, CEO of BioRap- tor, one of the presenting start-ups. “Our platform streamli- nes data collection, enables instant analysis, and accelera- tes process development.” Bühler’s CTO Ian Roberts emphasized the benefits of collaboration: “With established supply chains and market access, we believe that corporates in the room can play a crucial role in the journey of start-ups.” Participants agreed that AI-driven innovation depends on high-quality data. Generating trustworthy datasets, both in- ternally and through partners, was highlighted as key to the success of GenAI models for applications such as protein production and precision fermentation. Biyoteknoloji ve yapay zekâ alanındaki ilerlemelerin ticarileştirilmesini ve ölçeklendiril- mesini amaçlayan etkinlik, Avrupa ve Kuzey Amerika’dan gelen start-up’ları şirketler ve yatırımcılarla buluşturdu. “Biyoteknoloji için heyecan verici bir dönem. Bilimkurgu- yu gerçeğe dönüştürebiliyorlar,” diyen BioRaptor CEO’su Ori Zakin, sundukları platformun veri toplama, anlık analiz ve süreç geliştirmeyi hızlandırdığını belirtti. Bühler’in Teknoloji Sorumlusu Ian Roberts ise iş birliğinin önemini vurgularken, “Kurumsal firmalar olarak yerleşik te- darik zincirimiz ve pazar erişimimizle start-up’ların büyüme yolculuğuna önemli katkı sağlaya- bileceğimize inanıyoruz.” dedi. Katılımcılar, yapay zekâ destek- li inovasyonun başarısında kaliteli verinin belirleyici olduğunu ifade etti. Hem şirket içi hem de iş bir- likleri yoluyla güvenilir veri setleri oluşturmanın, özellikle protein üretimi ve hassas fermantasyon gibi alanlardaki GenAI uygulama- larında kritik olduğu vurgulandı.
