The part- nership allows producers to quantify and certify emission cuts, turning sustainability into a business opportunity rather than just a compliance requirement. Dr. Heinz Flatnitzer, Head of Emissions Va- lue Management at dsm-firmenich Animal Nutrition & Health, emphasized the economic potential of the initiative. “Unlocking the value of feed and food’s environmental footprint is the most effective way to achieve long-lasting sustainability gains while ensuring farmers have sufficient incomes,” he said. Bureau Veritas, a global leader in testing and certification, will ensure the accuracy of emissions data. Tomas Riegels-Jørgensen at Bureau Veritas noted the partnership sup- ports “credible carbon footprint reduction” in animal protein. The move comes as regulators and consumers demand greater transparency in livestock sustainability. By integrating verified LCAs, producers may access carbon markets, meet ESG reporting standards, and differentiate their products.
