Three new plants joined Skretting’s ASC-certified net- work in July, marking national firsts in Italy, Vietnam, and Australia. With these additions, Skretting now operates ten ASC-certified feed mills worldwide under a standard that demands high levels of environmental, social, and ingredient traceability compliance. The company’s feed plants in Italy, Vietnam, and Australia earned cer- tification under the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) Feed Standardwithin thismonth. Skretting Italy became the country’s first ASC-certified feed plant on July 7, followed by Skretting Vietnam, the first in the nation to certify both shrimp and fish feed. Bymonth’s end, Skretting Australia also entered the ranks, becoming the first feed facility in Australia to receive the certification. These additions bring Skretting’s total number of ASC-certified feed mills to ten worldwide. The ASC Feed Standard, launched in 2021, sets rigorous requirements for environmental impact, social responsibility, and ingredient traceability in aquafeed production. “Our purpose is feeding the future, and an important part of this is strengthening our position as a leader within sustainability,” said Jorge Diaz, Sustainability &Communications Director at Skretting. “By continuing to expand the number of ASC-certified operations we have across the globe, Skretting is offering assurance to all its customers and partners, and creating real value in the aquacul- ture industry.” The development comes amid rising expectations from regu- lators, consumers, and retailers for certified and ethically sourced feed inputs in aquaculture. Ardından gelen Skretting Vietnam, hem karides hem balık yemi alanında bu unvanı kazanan ilk tesis olarak kayıtlara geçti. Ayın sonunda Skretting Avustralya da sertifika alarak ülkesinde bu başarıyı elde eden ilk yem tesisi olma konumuna erişti. Bu gelişmelerle birlikte Skretting’in dünya genelindeki ASC sertifikalı yem tesisi sayısı 10’a ulaştı. 2021’de yayımlanan ASC Yem Standardı; çevresel etki, sosyal sorumluluk ve hammadde izlenebilirliğinde yüksek kriterler getiriyor. Söz konusu gelişme; denetleyicilerden, tüketicilerden ve pe- rakendecilerden gelen sertifikalı ve etik kaynaklı yem taleplerinin arttığı bir dönemde gerçekleşmiş oldu.
