European Sorghum Congress discusses 1001 reasons to invest in ‘grain of future’ Avrupa Sorgum Kongresi’nde ‘gelece- ğin tahılı’na yatırım için 1001 sebep tartışıldı The 4th European Sorghum Congress, held in Budapest, brought together a wide audience—from researchers and producers to industry leaders and policy-makers—to examine sorghum’s rising profile across feed, food and energy value chains. Hosted on 8–9 October, the Congress welcomed more than 200 participants from 27 countries. Organized by Sorghum ID and FNPSMS, the event covered a broad ran- ge of topics throughout its intensive agenda, including field research, industrial innovation, regional success models and new variety development. Plenary sessions, work- shops and roundtables provided a platform for redefining sorghum’s role across multiple value chains. A dedicated area featuring 15 poster presentations became one of the event’s hubs of interaction, encouraging direct exchanges between the academic and industrial communities. Sessions focusing on animal nutrition drew particular attention for their relevance to the feed sector. Experts underscored sorghum’s reliability as an energy and protein source for swine, poultry and ruminants.
