FEED PLANET • MAY - MAYIS 2026 30 NEWS HABER Kanatlı yemi üretimi 49,9 milyon tona ulaşarak domuz yemi sektörünü resmen tahtından ederken, endüstri aynı zamanda Hollanda’da sert çevresel yasalardan kaynaklanan %17,18’lik sarsıcı bir üretim düşüşüyle sarsılıyor. Avrupa yem güvenliği açısından kritik bir eşikten geçilirken yaşanan bu içsel dönüşüm, küresel pazar payı %13’e gerileyen Avrupa’yı, yükselen Kuzey Amerikalı ve Asyalı rakiplerine karşı yüksek riskli bir teknoloji yarışına zorluyor. As poultry feed production climbs to 49.9 million tons to officially unseat the pig sector as the EU’s primary seg- ment, the industry must simultaneously grapple with a staggering 17.18% production crash in the Netherlands triggered by aggressive environmental mandates. This internal restructuring comes at a critical moment for Eu- ropean feed security, as the EU’s global market share has eroded to 13% amidst a high-stakes technological race against surging North American and Asian competitors. Poultry feed overtakes pig sector to claim top spot in EU production AB’de kanatlı yemi, domuz yemini geride bırakarak zirveye yerleşti The European feed sector is navi- gating a period of profound structural transformation. According to the newly released Feed & Food Report 2025 by European Compound Feed Manufactu- rers’ Federation (FEFAC), the EU compo- und feed market reached 147.1 million tons in 2024. While this represents a marginal 0.22% Avrupa yem sektörü, derin bir yapısal dö- nüşüm sürecinden geçiyor. Avrupa Karma Yem Sanayicileri Federasyonu FEFAC’ın yakında yayımlanan 2025 Yem ve Gıda Raporu’na göre, AB karma yem pazarı 2024 yılında 147,1 milyon tona ulaştı. Bu rakam %0,22’lik marjinal bir artışı temsil etse de, aslında jeopolitik geri- limlerin, enerji krizlerinin ve çevresel değişimlerin FEED PLANET • MAY - MAYIS 2026 31 increase, the figure masks a volatile landscape where geo- political tensions, energy crises, and environmental shifts are rewriting the industry playbook. POULTRY TAKES THE LEAD FOR THE FIRST TIME For the first time, poultry feed has decisively overtaken pig feed as the EU’s largest production segment, reaching 49.9 million tons. This shift is driven by a consumer move toward leaner, more affordable proteins and a poultry sec- tor that successfully utilized vaccination campaigns, par- endüstri kurallarını yeniden yazdığı istikrarsız bir tabloyu maskeliyor. Luxembourg, Greece and Malta The compound feed industry has undergone a marked shift towards greater capital intensiveness in recent years, reflecting a growing dependence on technological innovation to enhance efficiency and sustainability. Through advanced techniques, feed formulations are increasingly tailored to the specific requirements of livestock farmers, with a particular emphasis on improving environmental performance. These approaches involve strict control over feed material selection, manufacturing operations and the quality of finished products. Within a compre- hensive EU and national regulatory framework, the industry complies with robust legislation designed to ensure the high quality and safety of feeds for livestock and for consumers of animal products. The EU27’s compound fee output represents about 13% of global industrial feed production, which is esti- mated at around 1,470 million tonnes. The EU’s global market share has experienced a decline over the past 7 years, primarily attributed to the notable surge in feed production experienced in Asia-Pacific and North America during the same period.
