Gerçekten de, gastrointestinal mikrobiyotanın gast- rointestinal sistemin gelişimini modüle ettiği ve mor- folojisini düzelttiği, böylece gastrointestinal immün sistemin gelişimini stimüle ettiği, konakçı beslenmesi- ni desteklediği ve gastrointestinal patojenleri azalttığı kanıtlanmıştır. Bu nedenle gastrointestinal mikrobiyo- ta, konakçı ya da hayvan refahı üzerinde anlamlı bir etki göstermektedir (Şekil 1).
